Somatic work is powerful

But explaining how or why it works can feel uncertain

At Science of Somatics, we translate up-to-date science into simple,  practical languageSo you can trust what you sense, explain it with confidence, and help your clients understand why it works.

When practitioners and educators understand the science behind their work, their practice becomes not only more precise, but also more communicable, respected, and trusted.

Our Programmes

A living laboratory

Science and Somatics are often seen as opposites, yet we experience them as natural partners: science helps explain and inform somatic methods, while somatic practice can inspire new questions for science to explore.

Our programmes bridge science and somatics through guided, experiential, and research-backed trainings.

Update the science behind your practice

We translate complex science into practical insights. Our learning experiences connect modern science with somatic education, supporting professionals in deepening their understanding and communicating the value of their practice with clarity and confidence.

We've done the research so you can focus on your practice.

The Science of Somatics Team

We are Tim Cacciatore and Sebastian Zahler: neuroscientists, somatic practitioners, and founders of Science of Somatics.

Science of Somatics was born from a shared question:
How do we bring together the part of us that moves and feels, with the part that wants to understand how it all works?

Our backgrounds combine decades of research in sensorimotor neuroscience, postural control and the autonomic nervous system, with years of hands-on experience in practices such as the Alexander Technique and Contact Improvisation.

Now we share our integration with you.
